Some Myths

You might have heard some of the following myths; let us dispel them.

1. I need to be very strong to excel at Wing Chun.
.....A good Wing Chun practitioner applies technique, timing and strategy appropriately
to overcome stronger opponents.

2. Martial arts is all mystic and no substance.
.....Sifu Kwok’s scientific approach in analyzing body mechanics delivers results: you
will be fitter, tougher as well as smarter.

3. Martial arts is only for men.
.....Martial arts is for everyone; men, women and children. They provide anyone and
everyone the opportunity to realize physical and personal goals.

4. If my kids learn martial arts, they will beat up other kids.
.....The study of martial arts is physical and mental; one develops discipline and
respect, confidence without arrogance and humility without timidness.

5. Because Wing Chun was founded by a woman, it is not practical for men to learn it.
.... Once you get started, training will be hard! That’s the best part. Getting started,
however, is easy. Come see us for two free weeks at 1650 East 12th Avenue
